Grace's story...
Grace Catherine Zinck was born October 27th 2003. Six weeks before she was born we found out that she would be very sick. During a routine ultrasound our baby was found to have a large heart defect and to be very small. At that time we had an amniocentesis and were given devastating news. Our unborn child, a baby girl had Trisomy 18. Trisomy 18 is a genetic condition that is considered "incompatible with life". 
We chose to continue our pregnancy and offer comfort care to our daughter if we would be lucky enough that she was born alive. We did not want drastic medical interventions that would only cause her pain when we could never "fix" her chromosomes.
