It's your last chance this year to help...

Make a donation to the annual fund, today!

What is the Annual Fund?

The Annual Fund directly supports operating expenses not covered by tuition or fees.  Upon receipt, Annual Fund contributions are immediately put to good use. These funds are critical to the financial well-being of Windrush Farm.

Why should you give?

Tuition and fees covers less than 39% of the cost of offering this unique therapy. Your Annual Fund gift helps us make up that difference.

Why is 100% participation so important?

Foundations look at Annual Fund percentage participation as a significant criterion for grant funding. Bond rating agencies look at Annual Fund participation as an indicator of financial stability. Our reputation for fiscal excellence is enhanced by the generous response to the Annual Fund from our parents, volunteers, and friends. Whatever the size of your gift, it will count toward our goal of 100% participation.

Taking the reins: Special needs students benefit from therapeutic riding program

Amesbury News: By Carol Feingold -Nov 29, 2007

Amesbur_3 Amesbury special education students are sitting tall in the saddle. Every Monday morning, from September through June, six Amesbury public school students with neurological and orthopedic disorders go horseback riding. “When they are on a horse, they have mobility and freedom of movement they’ve never had before,” said Sandra Stanton, physical therapist for the Amesbury schools.

“For these children, it is kind of magic.” “They sit tall,” said Linda Young, Amesbury High School special education teacher. “Kids that typically sit huddled over, they sit tall. Therapeutic riding builds confidence and self esteem and it allows the student freedom of movement and a sense of independence.”

“It’s therapy, but it’s fun,” Stanton said. “It’s really fun. They get confident because they’re trying something new and it’s challenging. It’s a focused activity for 60 minutes and it’s effortless. They love it. They really love it.”
